Description

The Resident Engineer is responsible for managing the project's technical, contractual, and operational aspects on-site. This includes overseeing construction processes, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards, coordinating with stakeholders, and addressing any issues that arise during the project's execution phase.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Project Oversight: Manage the overall technical direction of the project, ensuring compliance with the project’s objectives, scope, and budget.
  • Construction Management: Oversee the execution of construction activities, providing guidance to contractors, and ensuring adherence to approved plans, schedules, and safety standards.
  • Contract Administration: Handle contract-related matters, including reviewing documents, processing change orders, and resolving claims or disputes.
  • Scope & Schedule Management: Monitor and manage project scope changes and delays, ensuring the project stays on track and within budget.
  • Document Control: Review and approve critical project documents including construction drawings, method statements, inspection/test plans, and as-built drawings.
  • Liaison & Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact between clients, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and coordination.
  • Safety & Quality Assurance: Ensure that all construction activities comply with quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit regular progress reports, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and any potential risks to project timelines.
  • Problem Solving: Address technical, logistical, or regulatory issues as they arise and take action to mitigate delays or risks.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum Fifteen (15) years of experience in civil construction or project management.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
    • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
