AQLEH Engineering Consultant seeks a seasoned Senior Accountant to provide comprehensive financial management and strategic business insights. This role combines traditional accounting responsibilities with financial analysis and business advisory functions, requiring deep expertise in UAE regulatory frameworks and international accounting standards. The ideal candidate will serve as a key financial partner to management, delivering actionable insights that drive business decisions while ensuring full regulatory compliance.

Education & Certification

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent) strongly preferred
• Additional certifications in UAE tax and regulatory compliance advantageous

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 10-12 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience specifically within the UAE market
• Proven experience in engineering consulting, contracting, or professional services industries
• Demonstrated track record in financial analysis and business advisory roles
• Experience with project-based accounting and cost management systems

Technical Expertise

• Comprehensive knowledge of UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) rules and regulations
• Expert understanding of UAE Commercial Companies Law and Labor Law
• Proficiency in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Strong knowledge of International Standards on Auditing (ISA)
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms)
• Expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and data analysis tools

Job Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Prepare, examine, and analyze comprehensive financial records, reports, and statements
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with UAE FTA regulations, IFRS, and other applicable accounting standards
• Manage complete accounts payable and receivable cycles with precision and efficiency
• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings within established deadlines
• Reconcile bank statements and maintain continuous monitoring of company financial health
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls and accounting procedures

Business Intelligence & Strategic Support

• Provide actionable financial insights and recommendations to support strategic business decisions
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities
• Prepare executive-level financial presentations and management reports
• Support business development initiatives with financial feasibility studies and cost analysis
• Collaborate with project managers to analyze project profitability and performance metrics

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure full compliance with UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations including VAT, Excise Tax, and Corporate Tax requirements
• Prepare and file accurate tax returns within prescribed deadlines
• Maintain current knowledge of UAE commercial laws, labor laws, and regulatory changes
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide comprehensive audit support documentation
• Implement and monitor compliance procedures aligned with international auditing standards (ISA)
• Manage risk assessment processes and internal audit functions
